Opening the page of a favorite book (Angelic Messenger Cards) I read,”While it may appear to you that the solutions to your life problems lie in changing only your attitudes, or in adjusting where, how, or in what place you live, this card is offering you a different perspective. With the choice of this card you are being assured that the changes you want to come about in your life will arise from a change in perception that releases you to live in ways that reflect your spiritual beliefs completely.”
An exercise in the book for writing into your truth can be quite helpful. (The terms “ego” and “spirit” are used in the book, but obviously they are not necessary for you to benefit from the exercise.)
1. Choose the upset and write the question to your ego: “Why am I upset?” Write down your responses.
2. Now ask yourself, “What does my spirit have to teach me about this upset?” Write down these words.
3. For greater depth of insight, write on question number 2 for ten minutes without lifting your pen.
This week, find new ways to understand yourself more deeply. This is far from self-indulgence. Self-understanding is the foundation for healthy relationships.
