There is a Dutch Proverb that goes like this: The richest man, whatever his lot, is the one whose content with whatever he’s got.
Gratefulness is not a state in which suffering and adversity are selectively ignored. Rather, gratefulness means you see the opportunity that adversity offers, the opportunity for authentic spiritual growth.
If we dare to taste even the bitterness as a gift, it will bring about sweetness.
