Often we let bias and opinion get in our way. I am often shocked to discover that I really enjoy something made with substances I don’t even like. For example, cucumber salsa is delicious, and I don’t even like cucumbers. A friend was over for dinner when I made Risotto. “Fred does not like rice,” she whispered to me as I carried the dish from the kitchen to the table.
Well, he may not like rice, but he loves Risotto!
The same is true about things other than food.
I may not love sweating to the oldies, or riding the stationary bike, or doing the Downward Dog in yoga, but you cannot miss the fact that something is making you feel better.
This week, try something with surprising ingredients, whether a meditation retreat or a batch of Sweet Potato Brownies. Get out of your own way….
