As an author, it is easy for me to enjoy reading, but you can think of it this way: reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body. Yes, reading is something you can do at little or no cost, and it provides many benefits for your health and well-being.

According to the article Why You Should Read Every Day there is a whole lot you will gain:

Mental stimulation
Stress reduction
Knowledge
Vocabulary expansion
Memory improvement
Stronger analytical thinking skills
Improved focus and concentration
Better writing skills
Tranquility
Entertainment

Libraries are conveniently located in most cities, towns, and communities. Some communities also now have Little Free Library programs. Here is a photo of one I have visited.

This week, read something good and then tell someone about what you have read that was fun, or uplifting, or beneficial. Send this tip to a friend who has maybe not seen Debra’s Tips for Well-being before. After all, we have a mind and a body—and both need regular exercise!
