Pill-free Pain-relief

It is probably good to keep reminding ourselves we have options. And now Maureen McFadden of WNDU’s Medical Moment is doing just that in “Killing The Pain Without a Pill: Next in Prescription Health.  (Watch the video or read the article at http://bit.ly/RLSeFO.)

Willow Bark – In a study of nearly 200 people with lower back pain, those who received willow bark experienced a significant improvement in pain compared to those who received a placebo. (Boil a couple of leaves and make a tea.)

Curcumin – A study shows if used regularly, curcumin could change DNA regulation to help kill cancer. Curcumin is antioxidant component of turmeric, which can be found in curry.

Aquamin – This red seaweed supplement was shown to reduce osteoarthritis pain by 20 percent in just one month.

Capsaicin – A study found migraine patients who applied capsaicin (cap-say-eh-sin) cream inside their nostrils decreased their pain by almost half.

If you prefer alternative medicine to traditional drugs, you might have also tried CBD oil. It is important to learn about the right product dosage, for more info go to https://cbdforsure.com/cbd-oil-dosage-how-much-to-take/.

The article includes research summary provided by Brunilda Lopez, Executive Assistant for The Center for Natural & Integrative Medicine. Her report even includes information about Alpha Lipoic acid: “Like Acetyl-L-Carnitine, Alpha Lipoic acid seems to help with diabetic neuropathy. It not only reduces pain, but also seems to slow down the progression of the nerve injury. It may also enhance insulin sensitivity and help with nerve damage caused by cancer treatments.”

You may also want to check out the Bravewell Report. “With chronic health issues costing the U.S. economy more than $1 trillion a year, it’s essential to find the most effective ways to treat and prevent the most prevalent conditions,” said Donald Abrams, MD, co-author of the report and professor of clinical medicine at the University of California San Francisco. “This report demonstrates how an integrative approach is being used to improve patient outcomes.” You can download the report for free here: http://bit.ly/xu6kfd.

This week, pay attention to the way an integrative approach to things really helps. It works with physical health, yes, but you may discover that it also works in other areas of life.
