While research does not support that juicing offers health benefits over eating plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits, there are some great benefits to juicing, especially if you have trouble eating enough vegetables and fruits otherwise.
Here are some tips to get you started:
• For most veggie and fruit juices, you can get by with a regular blender. One advantage is you keep the fiber (juicers separate the pulp, so you have to add fiber back in if you are going to get that).
• Use mostly veggies, and just add an apple or kiwi to sweeten the juice naturally.
• Include flax or hemp seeds for additional joint health.
• Add almond milk, yogurt, or peanut butter for additional protein.
• Make your juice fresh every day. This provides the greatest antioxidant properties.
This week, introduce additional ways to improve your nutrition. Our bodies are amazing when you make good choices for your health and well-being.
