Many around the world celebrate Easter on Sunday, April 21, 2019, but it was not until the eighth century that the Saxon word, Eastra, was associated with a religious belief of the resurrection of Jesus.
Pagan celebrations are much older.
According to an online article the resurrection story bears an amazing resemblance to the story of the Sumerian goddess Inanna.
Of course, all of human life demonstrates the cycle of birth, death, and resurrection. Everywhere you look in nature you see that truth.
The liver can grow cells and regenerate itself. According to Wikipedia, the liver can actually be split in half and transplanted into two different recipients. An individual can have a portion of his or her liver removed, and the portion that remains will regenerate itself to nearly its original size.
This week, regardless of your current or past practices, bring to your awareness the way “resurrection” can happen for you on all levels: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Happy Eastra!
