Her husband was in rehab. He had not yet regained bowel function, was bloated, toxic, terribly uncomfortable, and growing frustrated with the unsuccessful treatment: stool softener, laxative, suppository. “You would think a progressive hospital like this would have acupuncture available,” she lamented.
That was noon.
At 7:00 pm, she received a call from a client she had been playing phone tag with. The client was glad to make contact, hoping to schedule an appointment. “Unfortunately, my calendar is at home, and I am at Mary Free Bed hospital with my husband.”
“Oh, that is such a wonderful facility. My niece was there for rehab and she did great. I will say, it was the acupuncture that really helped her,” the client chimed in.
“Acupuncture?” she inquired.
“Oh, yes, they offer acupuncture at the Wege Institute connected to the hospital,” was the response.
Her husband had acupuncture the next day, and had a normal bowl movement after just one treatment.
Every day since her husband had been moved to rehab, she had parked in the lot right next door to the Wege Institute.
What we need is probably always closer to us than we might think….
