Scientists are looking at whether running as a young person helps your brain as it ages.

“The areas of the brain where we saw more connectivity in runners are also the areas that are impacted as we age, so it really raises the question of whether being active as a young adult could be potentially beneficial and perhaps afford some resilience against the effects of aging and disease,” Alexander said in a university news release. While it may be too late for some of us to start being active as a young adult, lots of studies over the years have shown physical activity and exercise have a beneficial impact on the brain.

This week, get physical! Whatever your previous level of activity, step it up a notch. Find more ways to have more fun doing things that are good for you.
