Get Outside

It is finally that time of year when those of us in North America can begin enjoying being out-of-doors for longer periods of time. We hike, bike, swim, fish, walk on the beach, and picnic. While we can enjoy all of these activities, we also can be more vulnerable to insects—including ticks.

You may refresh your wisdom about neem, the natural product that helps prevent tick bites, in Debra’s April 28, 2013, Tip for Well-Being.

witch hazelHere is another amazing healthy insect repellent that is quick to mix up, easy to use, and may be much safer than over-the-counter products.

Ingredients:

  • Witch Hazel
  • Listerine
  • Tea Tree Oil

Just combine two parts Witch Hazel to one part Listerine, and add 10 drops Tea Tree Oil per cup. I put mine in a spray bottle and keep it in the car.

This week, get into the habit of spending more time outside. Do the simple things that allow you to be safe as you enjoy life more and more.
