If you have been following Debra’s Wellness Tips for a while, you are already familiar with the multitude of health benefits derived from good fatty acids. However, in a recent National Institutes for Health (NIH) Medline Plus article, a study was reported that found a link between fatty acids and bipolar. Those with bipolar disorder had lower levels of certain omega-3 fatty acids that can cross the blood-brain barrier.

This week, be aware of getting a healthy intake of good fatty acids. Enjoy your favorite sources: fish, nuts, flax seeds, and lots of green leafy vegetables. Doing what is good for you just makes sense!
